ADMISSIONS

The Chinatown Community Children's Center is opened to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Children 2-5 years old, whose family meet all income and need criteria requirements, shall have full access to our services regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, or religion.

The Chinatown Community Children's Center is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services.

The Chinatown Community Children's Center will accept children who are physically handicapped, mentally disordered or developmentally disabled.

SUBSIDIZED PROGRAM

  1. Interested parent(s) will fill out and complete an application form and submit paycheck stubs from two recent months for the verification of income eligibility.

  2. The Office Manager will check the returned application to ensure the form has been completed with the necessary information.

  3. The waiting list is prioritized accordingly:

    1. First priority is given to children under protective services. Among protective service children, those who are receiving protective services through the local welfare department shall be admitted first.

    2. Second priority is given to those with the lowest family income or lowest per capita income.

Each application will be assigned a rank using the above admission priority schedule issued by the State Department of Education, Office of Child Development. For the purposes of determining the order of admission, public assistance grants are counted as part of a person's income. When 2 or more families have the same income/rank number, the family that has been on the wait list longer shall be admitted first.

Special Case: Families who have a child/children enrolled in the Center shall be allowed to enroll additional children provided there exists an appropriate program opening.

The Center maintains a current wait list in accordance with admission priorities. The Center will contact applicants in order of priority should a vacancy occur.

FULL COST PROGRAM

  1. Interested parent(s) will fill out and complete an application form along with the application fee of $50.00 to the Center. The application fee is non-refundable and non-applicable to the tuition.

  2. The Office Manager will check the return application to ensure the form has been completed with the necessary information.

  3. The waiting list is prioritized accordingly:

    1. First priority is given to families who currently have children enrolled in the Center and wish to enroll additional children. A 10% discount is given to the second child enrolled.

    2. All others shall be assigned a position based on a first come first serve basis. The Center shall contact applicants in order of priority from the waiting list as vacancies occur.

The Center encourages all parents to schedule an appointment to come into the Center to observe and experience some of the Center's activities and get an overview of the program.
